The Carnegie Library in Middletown, Ohio has been sitting vacant for years and is in need of a new program to bring life to a once proud public institution. This design aims to entice recent graduates to move to Middletown, by providing housing in exchange for working as a tutor or barista in the old library. The original part of the building with the main entryway has been transformed into a cafe that reminds you of the building's rich history, while also providing space, primarily upstairs, for students to attend tutoring sessions after school.
